The Australian Lunar Bullion Coin Series II ends its 12 year cycle in 2019 with an image of a Pig. The pig is said to be easy-going, sincere and calm under pressure. People born in1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019 are under the influence of the pig. Struck from 99.99% pure gold for discerning bullion investors, the coins mark the Year of the Pig with a design celebrating this social, inquisitive and highly intelligent animal.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, each coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with the pig on the reverse.
Australian Lunar gold bullion coins are available in 1 kilo, 10oz, 2oz, 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz and 1/20oz sizes.
The 1oz Perth Mint Gold Lunar Pig is made in a limited mintage: No more than 30,000 1oz gold coins will be released.
